Mod User's Responsibilities Terms
Please take the time to take responsibility for figuring out how to use mods. This is your responsibility as the mod user. You buy a toaster; you figure out how it works, read its instructions, troubleshoot your setup, your installation, if you're using it correctly, and if after trying everything you can, you think it's faulty you contact the manufacturer or toss it. Mods are basically the same. If you don't have the capacity to figure out how to download and maintain mods, then maybe mods aren't for you.
Mods have learning curves and require an investment of your time and energy in downloading, installing, and maintaining them. It's why many, many players don't bother to use them; it can definitely be a hassle. If you need help with properly installing mods here's a helpful resource. If you need help once the mod is installed, please read the troubleshooting steps below. If you need help troubleshooting
Mod Support Terms
Mod support on Discord or a quick question in my DMs on patreon is to help you figure out a problem. I am busy outside of modding and so sometimes it may take a few days to get back to you. If you need help sooner, you can go to a general support server like Deaderpool or SAD. Chances are they can help you since the vast majority of mod support is helping to correct improper mod installation which is related to the paragraph above. If you are getting an error and aren't sure what's causing it you can try troubleshooting on your own. Here's a helpful guide to doing so.
Troubleshooting
MISSING OPTIONS or CAN'T CLICK ON SIMS
First thing's first, make sure that if you have a script mod and are missing options, make sure that the mod is no more than one folder deep. When in doubt place it directly into your mods folder. Refer here to mod folder organization and how it affects how mods work.
If you are missing options on the phone or computer, or cannot click on your sims, check your mod folder for ANY general pie menus. Delete.Redownload. Clear cache. Your version must be v3 or higher. If your version isn't version 3 or higher, it is outdated and will not work with any updated version of any of my mods. It will, in fact, break your sim menu without it. It might even throw a BE UI error. You have been warned. Update the mods - update the pie menus and do not leave any previous versions behind in your mods folder. Make sure you only have one version of Lumpinou's Mood Pack installed and that it is up to date. In doubt, redownload.
OPTIONS ARE GREYED OUT
This means that this is not available to your sim. This is due to the mechanics of the mod and your sim simply does not meet the eligibility requirements for that option.
CHEATS MENU
The cheats menus for my mods have been moved to the Actions menu.
UI ERRORS/BLUE BOXES
This is due to missing necessary requirements. You are either missing the general pie menus or Lumpinou's Mood Pack or have outdated versions of either or both of those mods. Delete any previous versions and make sure you have the version updated. If you think you have it, check, again! If you have an issue with your UI or blue squares, download the mood pack because you're clearly missing it. Clear cache.
SIMS ARE NOT DYING
You installed the Death Disabler package. Look for it in your mods folder and remove it. This information is specified in the mod's installation instructions.
SHARED OVERRIDES FILES
Golden Years and Simulated Endings share a file. It is so named !adeepindigo_gameplaymods_SE_GY_Shared_Overrides (REQUIRED). As mentioned in its name, it is required. If you have either or both of those mods, make sure only ONE of those files are installed.
SHARED SCHOOL TUNINGS
This has been updated and renamed. It is required with the updates to Preteen, Education Overhaul, Summer Camps, and Delinquent Teens. You only need one set; don't duplicate. Do not replace; you must delete and download. Clear cache. I got a few questions about it so here's the deal: if you have the corresponding pack that matches the file name, then that file is required. If you don't have that pack, don't install that file. The BG file is always required. The HSY Afterschool Activities file should not be installed if you use the DTL HSY Afterschool Activities addon (DTL file requires tryouts; this one does not). Choose only ONE.
CORE LIBRARY
Many of my smaller mods require a dependent script that is not included with the mod. This script is linked in the installation instructions of that mod. If you are unable to access features of a mod that does not have a script file, chances are you are missing the Core Library which is required for those mods to work. They even have a note in their downloads which say they require the Core Library. Go and get it.
BE/MCCC ERROR
If you are using a mod and get a BE/MCCC error report, make SURE you have updated versions of the mod. Delete your copy of them, redownload them, and clear your cache. Make sure you have ALL required files, all required dependency mods installed, no duplicates, check compatibilities and conflicts on the mod description pages, and ONLY the files for which you have packs in your mods folder. Those files are detailed named with the packs abbreviation.
Make sure to test in a vanilla save (here's how) with only my mods to see if the error persists once you have updated all mods and installed all of their requirements. If your error persists after re-downloading the mods, confirming incompatibilities and conflicts, making sure you have only files for which you have packs, and have the required dependency mods (shared tuning, shared library, general pie menus, mood pack, etc) then come to Discordand make a thread with a brief description of your issue and attach the error report in its full html format (do not copy and paste, please).
CAN'T OPEN GAME/GAME ERROR (CORRUPT DOWNLOAD)
If you are using a mod and get a game error or can't open your game, your download was most likely corrupted by your browser when downloading. You must delete all iterations of the download from your computer including downloads folder and mods folder, delete your browser cache, delete your game folder cache and your resource.cfg (it will be regenerated), and try again. If that doesn't work, try downloading from a different browser or the alternate download link in the mod's description post or downloading from a different browser and using the alternate download link. Load up your game and try again. If this does not work, you can try for mod support on Discord.
