Here are 11 new summer camp opportunities for your child and teen sims to explore. Signups are available on the phone and computer during the Summer only. Camps last for 5 days  (Sunday signups are highly recommended). Day Camp costs $350. Away Camp costs $500.

Features/How It Works

Use the phone or computer under the School menu to access the ability to sign up for Summer Camps. The option is available daily between 8AM and 8PM during the Summer season. Day Camp is Monday-Friday from 8AM to 8PM. Away Camp starts at 8am the next day and lasts for 5 days.


Summer Camp will replace school for any children and teens for its duration. Camp lasts 5 days and starts the next day for Away Camp and the next weekday for Day Camp


Your sim will come back with new and consistently improving skills that correspond to their camp as well as a chance for a buff about their experience that day

If at any point you wish to Quit Camp, you must use the Quit Camp option on the phone or computer under the School menu. If at Away Camp, you must cancel the interaction. Your Sim will revert back to either Grade or High School at their last grade level. Your sim will automatically quit camp when the season changes from Summer or they age up past Teen

You can now choose to follow your camper to Day Camp. If your sim, when signing up for camp, chose to attend Day Camp, when it is time for camp to begin you will now have the option to follow your Sim to Camp.

 This requires a Campground venue to be placed (you will need Zerbu's Venue Changes or Basemental's Universal Venue List) before camp starts! Your campground venue has few requirements as the venue's layout will depend on the type of camp your sim is signed up for. 

For instance, for a sim signed up for Art Camp your campground should include easels, fabricators, pottery wheels and kilns, activity tables, and/or woodworking benches. For STEM camp, you'd should have science tables, robotics benches, computers, microscopes, telescopes, and/or rockets. Your venue should be outfitted with objects which make logical sense for the type of camp your sim has signed up for. 

However, all camp's should have a pond, a pool, and a few forms of recreation for your sims (chess tables, playground equipment, etc) else during their breaks and free time they won't have much to do. 

 The camp day lasts the whole of the career day (12 hours) so your sim will have morning free time, morning camp activities, lunch, an afternoon break, afternoon camp activities, dinner, and then free time before going home. The day is tracked for you so you always know what the current schedule is and when it ends. 

A camp director and 1-2 camp counselors will spawn as well as a maintenance sim. The maintenance sim will be primarily focused on keeping the camp clean. The camp director is there to make sure everyone is following the rules and also serves as lunch proctor and chef. The counselors are there to mentor sims while they build their skills, share their knowledge, and help out around the camp during meal times. Between 3 and 5 other campers will also attend camp with your sim. At the end of the camp day, your sim may receive a buff about their time at camp.

Active Away Camp

New Venue (Required in a World) 

 Sleepaway Camps require you to have a Summer Camp venue placed in any world you want, but one must be placed before your Sim registers for Away Camp. (Note: you will need Zerbu's Venue Changes or Basemental's Universal Venue List, when it gets updated). They still have the option to attend the rabbithole camp but there's no way for me to hide the option to follow them if you don't have the venue installed. Only one Campground and one Summer Camp venue in your game. Make sure it is setup for the type of camp your sim's are attending.

The venue requirements are absolutely required for camp to function as intended. A few other things, not listed in the venue requirements, are necessary but can't be listed because they are only available build mode.

Beds or Sleeping Bags

You will need somewhere for your sims to sleep. You can use tents, however, there is a chance they play musical tents all night so there's that. Sleeping bags and single beds work best, I highly recommend them over tents, and they should be preplaced before camp starts with 12 beds or 12 sleeping bags or enough tents for 12 people.

Food Preparation

Cafeteria Station, Buffet/Banquet Table, Marketstall, Stove, or Grill (though I highly suggest cafeteria, market stall, or banquet table/buffet b/c sims sometimes get distracted when cooking and won't finish on the stove or grill). Reminder that if you have a stove as the only food prep, you must have a fridge as well else there will be no way to get the food first. I have included an optional extra file that overrides the cooler so that more options are available for sims from coolers.

Starting Sleepaway Camp

The day after you register (or same day if you register before 4am), around 7am your sim will be prompted to attend away camp and make a choice about their away camp option.

The first option - Send off to Sleepaway Camp - is the rabbithole option (it clarifies this if you hover over the button) and the second option - Attend Sleepaway Camp - is the active event that requires the summer camp venue. If you don't respond for whatever reason it will default you into the rabbithole.

Checking in For Sleepaway Camp

If you choose to follow your sim to sleepaway camp at the Summer Camp venue, your sim will arrive at the venue once the option is selected. The Camp Director, Camp Counselors, Maintenance Staff, and other Campers will arrive shortly thereafter. The first step is to check in with either the Director or a Counselor. Camp will not progress at all until this is done and should be done no later than 9am.

Three Day Structure of Sleepaway Camp Event

From that point on camp will proceed as a structured event. First there's morning free time, breakfast on every day but the first, then morning camp activities, followed by lunch and then an afternoon break, afternoon camp activities begin then dinner time followed by evening campfire time then quiet time and finally bedtime until the next morning when morning free time begins again.

There will be prompts that appear to remind you what activity your sim should be engaging in at the time - so when morning camp activities should begin the event should display a timer for the activity as well as the activity itself and a notification will appear. Note that your sim won't complete the activity itself - for instance, morning free time - until transition time before the next activity occurs. This happens on its own. Other campers and staff will be following the same schedule as displayed to your sim and will engage in those activities when it is time.

Note that the activities available to your sim and what the counselors and other campers will do on their own depends on the type of camp you selected. So, for example, if you choose to attend STEM camp counselors will mentor sims in those skills and other campers will autonomously work on those skills during Camp Activities time so make sure to have enough types of objects that can be used by a number of sims - for instance, enough science tables or robotics workbenches, or a computer lab, etc.

When it's time to go to bed, if other sims are not going to sleep on their own, you can click on your sim or the ground and send them to bed.

Leaving Camp Early

Also note that you cannot cancel the event from the event menu. You can only cancel the event via the cheat under the Actions menu labeled Leave Camp Early. Only use this option if, for whatever reason, your sim cannot complete camp within the 3 day time frame. Cancelling early will then send your sim to the rabbithole Away Camp for the remaining days scheduled. When camp ends naturally after the third day, your sim will be sent to finish the last 2 days at the rabbithole away camp and come back home when it's over.
